Soccer arbitrage betting
A soccer (football) match usually has three outcomes, home win, draw and away win, and an arbitrage has to cover all of them. This page explains how that works across sportsbooks and what BETCYON compares for soccer.
5,935 Soccer events recorded right now across the sportsbooks BETCYON follows. See Moneybook
How soccer arbitrage works
In the 1X2 market the outcomes are home win (1), draw (X) and away win (2). Take the best price for each outcome, from any sportsbook, and add up the implied probabilities. If the total is below 100%, splitting the stake in proportion to the implied probabilities returns the same amount whichever result happens. The arbitrage calculator does this for three-way markets.
What BETCYON compares in soccer
Winner markets (1X2) from 1win, 1XBET and Pinnacle, for the result after regulation time: 90 minutes plus stoppage time, with extra time and penalty shootouts excluded.
Double chance markets, which BETCYON pairs with the remaining 1X2 result to make two-way markets: 1X against away, X2 against home and 12 against draw.
Asian handicap lines from 1win, 1XBET and Pinnacle, including quarter lines such as -0.25 and +0.75. A quarter line is settled as half the stake on each neighbouring line, and the stake split is checked against every possible score. A whole line refunds both bets on a tie, so a pair on it never guarantees a profit and is not offered as an arbitrage.
Games are matched across sportsbooks by sport, kickoff time and team names, so "RC Lens" and "Lens" are one game. Women's, youth and reserve sides are kept apart from the senior side, and virtual or simulated football is never compared.
Risks specific to soccer
- A postponed or abandoned match is settled by each sportsbook under its own rules, which can differ.
- A 1X2 price covers regulation time only. A price for who qualifies or wins in extra time is a different market.
- Prices change as kickoff approaches and during play, so check how old each price is before you rely on it.
- Sportbet prices are recorded and shown, but they are not used to calculate opportunities because its settlement rules could not be read.
Frequently asked questions
How does a three-way arbitrage work?
All three outcomes, home, draw and away, must be covered. Use the best price for each outcome, split the stake in proportion to 1 ÷ odds, and the same amount comes back whichever result happens, as long as the total implied probability is below 100%.
Does extra time count in the 1X2 market?
No. The 1X2 markets BETCYON compares settle on the result after regulation time, 90 minutes plus stoppage time.
How does Asian handicap arbitrage work?
Two prices on opposite sides of the same handicap line can form an arbitrage like any two-way market. A quarter line is settled as half the stake on each neighbouring line, so BETCYON checks the stake split against every possible score, and a whole line that refunds on a tie is never offered as an arbitrage.
What is a quarter handicap line?
A line such as -0.25 or +0.75 that splits the bet in two: half the stake goes on each neighbouring line, so a result can win half, lose half or refund half.
