Arbitrage calculator
This arbitrage calculator, also called a surebet calculator, works for 2-way and 3-way markets. Enter the best odds you can find for each outcome and your total stake. The calculator shows whether the prices leave an arbitrage gap, how much to bet on each outcome and what comes back whichever outcome wins.
Bet 1,000.00 in total and 1,034.78 comes back on any outcome, a profit of 34.78 if every bet is placed at these prices and settles normally.
- Total implied probability
- 96.64%
- Return on any outcome
- 1,034.78
| Outcome | Decimal odds | Stake | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2.100 | 492.75 | 49.28% |
| 2 | 2.040 | 507.25 | 50.72% |
How the arbitrage calculator works
Every price implies a probability: 1 divided by the decimal odds. Add up those probabilities for all outcomes of one event. If the total is below 100%, the sportsbooks disagree enough that betting every outcome can lock in a profit.
Splitting the stake this way returns the same amount whichever outcome wins: total stake ÷ total implied probability. The profit is that return minus the total stake.
Worked example
Two sportsbooks price a tennis match. One offers 2.10 on Player A and the other offers 2.04 on Player B. The implied probabilities are 47.62% and 49.02%, a total of 96.64%. With a total stake of 1,000, bet 492.75 on Player A and 507.25 on Player B. Either result returns 1,034.78, a profit of 34.78 or +3.48%.
2-way and 3-way arbitrage
A 2-way market has two outcomes, such as a tennis match or a basketball moneyline. A 3-way market adds the draw, as in a football 1X2 market. The calculation is the same; use the best price for each outcome, from whichever sportsbook offers it.
What this calculator does not include
- Fees, commissions, taxes and currency conversion.
- Betting limits, minimum stakes and rounding to a sportsbook's stake steps, which change the result slightly.
- Prices that move or are withdrawn while you place the bets, and bets that are voided or settled differently.
- Whether two markets really settle the same way. Check the rules of each sportsbook before you rely on a result.
BETCYON does not place bets. To see prices compared across sportsbooks, open Moneybook or browse all markets. For the basics of reading odds, see how it works, arbitrage betting explained, the odds converter and the implied probability calculator. Sport guides: soccer, tennis and esports.
