Tennis arbitrage betting
A tennis match has two outcomes and no draw, which makes the arithmetic simple. The risk is in the rules: sportsbooks do not all settle a bet the same way when a player retires.

How tennis arbitrage works
Take the best price on each player from any sportsbook and add up the two implied probabilities. If the total is below 100%, staking each player in proportion to 1 ÷ odds returns the same amount whichever player wins. The worked example on the arbitrage betting guide is a tennis match at 2.10 and 2.04.
A tennis example with illustrative prices
Suppose one sportsbook offers 2.20 on Player A and another offers 1.90 on Player B. The implied probabilities are 45.45% and 52.63%, a total of 98.09%. With a total stake of 1,000, bet 463.41 on Player A and 536.59 on Player B. Either player winning returns 1,019.51, a profit of 19.51 or +1.95%.
The same prices at one sportsbook would not work: the two sides of a single sportsbook's market add up to more than 100%, because that excess is its margin. The gap only appears when the best prices come from different sportsbooks.
Retirement rules decide which prices can be combined
1XBET and Pinnacle let the match winner bet stand once a set has been completed. 1win refunds the bet on any retirement. Two prices with different retirement rules are different bets, so BETCYON never combines them in one opportunity: books with different exception rules do not share a market row.
Games are matched across sportsbooks by sport, kickoff time and player names. Virtual, simulated and short-format products are excluded.
What to check before you stake
A tennis opportunity is only as good as its slowest price, and the rules behind it decide what happens if the match does not finish. Before staking:
- Read how each sportsbook settles a retirement or walkover, and make sure both prices follow the same rule.
- Look at how long ago each price was observed. BETCYON shows the age on every price and on each leg of an opportunity.
- Remember that the figure leaves out fees, stake limits and rounding to the sportsbook's stake steps.
- Check that the market is the match winner: sets and games markets are different bets.
Risks specific to tennis
- A retirement or walkover is settled under each sportsbook's own rule; read it before you stake.
- Prices can change during a live match, so an old price can disappear before you place the second bet.
- Sets and games markets are separate bets from the match winner and are not interchangeable with it.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to my bet if a tennis player retires?
It depends on the sportsbook. 1XBET and Pinnacle let the winner bet stand once a set is completed, while 1win refunds it on any retirement. That is why BETCYON does not combine prices from sportsbooks with different rules.
Is tennis a two-way or three-way market?
Two-way: there is no draw, so an arbitrage covers just the two players.
Can I combine two prices from the same sportsbook?
Not for an arbitrage. The two sides of one sportsbook's market add up to more than 100%, so the gap only appears when the best price for each player comes from a different sportsbook.
Why does BETCYON leave some tennis prices out of opportunities?
A price is only combined with prices that follow the same retirement rule. Virtual, simulated and short-format products are excluded altogether.
BETCYON does not place bets.
